In the underground music community there is an artist that goes by the name of “Marwick” who I believe is on the path of success and could possibly blow up.
I first discovered Marwick when his TikTok videos popped up on my for you page showcasing one of his songs. After hearing one of his songs I immediately sent the video to my uncle, Jacorie. My uncle is where I get my music taste from, so when I heard his song I immediately knew that I had to get his opinion on it. Plus my uncle is a music artist himself so I knew he would give me some strong feedback on the artist.
“To be honest I really like him,” my uncle said. “He has a great flow, and his beats are impressive. When he raps, he just flows perfectly alongside the beat. He definitely has some promising qualities. All he needs to do is just build his fanbase and I could see him being really popular.”
After hearing the amazing feedback from my uncle, I knew I had to recommend a few songs to my friend Chris Webb, since I knew we both had similar music taste.
“Yes, I would add some of his songs to my playlist, specifically “asa mitaka ” and “GEEKED,” Webb said.
Now that I had two astounding responses about this “promising” artist, I decided to recommend him to another friend, Sarah Ali. It was kind of a long shot since me and this specific friend had totally opposite music tastes and argued over songs all the time, but, I thought this artist is too good not to share and was worth the risk.
“EKE is a good song. I can hear the words clearly and I really like it! I wouldn’t add it to my playlist because I don’t really think it’s my type of music,” Ali said.
To be honest I was pretty surprised after getting that feedback from Sarah. But after hearing what she said I immediately knew this artist was special, talented, and had a ridiculous amount of potential.
In my opinion, Marwick’s music makes a person just have a completely unidentified emotion. It makes you feel like a different person.
One thing I really admire about his music is not every song sounds the same. For an example, his songs
One of my pet peeves is when every song an artist makes sounds the exact same, but with Marwick it’s an entirely different story. And that’s something I admire about him. He’s unique. In order to actually enjoy and understand Marwick’s choice in beats and melodies, you have to focus on every bridge, verse, harmony, and timbre.
In my opinion, Marwick is a lyrical artist and an overall musical genius.
