Working with computers can be strange sometimes. Usually getting computers to fix will be normal for the people working in Chromeland, but sometimes things go differently. Some might get a computer with something weird or not particularly wrong with it.
HHS Senior Zaid Al-Saadi is an intern in Chromeland and he works on some of the Chromebooks.
“I had one with bugs in it, and when you opened it they were all moving around,” Al-Saadi said. “I had to wear gloves and I had to spray down poison too.”
Mr. Trey Dittrich, HHS Innovative Technology teacher, has some pretty crazy stories about Chromebooks too.
“Sometimes when we are preparing Chromebooks in the middle of a lesson, somebody would be working on it and while I’m talking we’ll hear a Chromebook just randomly start talking to us,” Dittrich said.

HHS Technology Aide Mrs. Denise Downing. Has received a lot of chromebooks that have needed fixing. Some chromebooks more than others.
“The whole thing was taken apart, the top was off, the hinges were gone, they unscrewed the bottom part, and that part was apart, and the screen was broken,” Downing said about one of the worst broken Chromebooks she has seen.
Getting Chromebooks and working on them must be pretty interesting already, seeing how people break their computers and how awful some get but not all are just broken some are just plain gross.
“One time a Chromebook was glued shut with like sauce or – like I don’t know what it was – but we just had to end up giving them a whole new Chromebook after that. Like it wouldn’t even open,” Al-Saadi said.
There have been some crazy and funny stories about Chromebooks being brought to Chromeland but even the people in Chromeland working on the computers mess up sometimes and create their own crazy stories.
“Sometimes I’ll be working and I can smell like burning plastic from around the classroom and I have to find which Chromebook being worked on it is,” Dittrich said.
Working on computers seems pretty chaotic, but some even tend to actually catch on fire.
“One time a battery was like catching on fire,” Al-Saadi said. “So we just gave up on that Chromebook.”
