Mrs. Georgia Thebeau (pronounced T-bo) is the new Science teacher in 2024 at HHS and is ready to begin her first-ever teaching career.
Thebeau is from St. Louis County, attended Oakville High School, and graduated college at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. This is her first job as a science teacher.
“My first year of teaching has been good. I really love the community at Hancock and getting to know the students has been my favorite part of this year,” Mrs. Thebeau said. “I look forward to continuing out the rest of this year.”
Thebeau has had a long-term bond with science, finding fascination in exploring its many wonders. Her passion for science has only grown over the years, making it one of her favorite subjects to teach and learn.
“Yes, it’s always been my favorite subject for sure,” Thebeau said. “I’ve always been interested in it in high school,” Thebeau said. “I loved doing labs, they’re really cool, and hands-on activities.”
Since the beginning of the school year, Thebeau has developed a strong, and positive opinion of her first school.
“I like it,” she said. “I think the community is really good and it’s a small school so you get to know everybody here.”
If you’d have to go to the room with the name “Hamburg” instead of Mrs. Thebeau.
“I am recently married,” Thebeau said. “I got married this past June.”
Thebeau and her new husband enjoy various activities from working out, cooking, and traveling.
“Over the summer we were able to go to London and Paris but we go to Nashville often to visit family,” Thebeau said. “We also love to watch the Great British Bake Off.”
Other than her labs, she conducts experiments in the kitchen, making her a scientific chef.
“I like to bake, I bake bread, desserts, and dinner as well,” Thebeau said. “I don’t know if I necessarily have a favorite thing to cook but I love baking, especially bread and cinnamon rolls. I also like to bake sourdough bread and pretzels. My favorite recipe to cook is Pad Thai which is a peanut noodle dish.”
