June 10, 2024 started a new era for Bayless-Hancock Football. This co-op determines the future success for the football athletes in both school districts. But, this co-op could not have started without leadership, brotherhood, and dedication.
Brotherhood is a big discussion for not just the Bronchos, but for any team that is in the rebuilding process of their program.
HHS linebacker Jaelyn Williams (12) said, “I feel like our brotherhood is super strong; we’re united through blood, sweat, and tears. Everyone is working towards the same thing: winning, having a good season, and winning districts.”
In comparison, the Bishop Dubourg co-op team and the Bayless co-op team show quite a difference among the Hancock football athletes.
“There was a lot of animosity with some players being better than other certain players, and now at Bayless we look at everybody winning vs. ‘oh he’s better than me,’” Williams said.
Everyone has different opinions about the brotherhood, the quick bond, and how it’s much better for our Hancock football athletes.
HHS linebacker Brandon Diggs (12) claimed “It was very easy, we all clicked with the Bayless players because we played against each other because we knew each other.”
Diggs, said something distinct compared Williams, referencing the difference between the co-op with BIshop Dubourg and Bayless.
“We move as a team, we move as a unit; instead of what we are going to do Friday night,” Diggs said.
So far, The Bronchos has won two games and lost five. However, they will finish their season with two home games against Cuba high school and Windsor high school before districts.
