Senior Sam Richardson is Athlete of the Week on the St. Louis Post Dispatch. He has played basketball all four years of his high school career, being in the top 3 on the leaderboard from the whole league.

Richardson says, “I don’t really know how to react. I get recognized a lot, but being the athlete of the week on StlToday made me feel achieved.” He has been an all tournament honoree at the Southside Classic and MICDS tournament this season.

He was MVP in the Bruce Thomas tournament, in which 8 schools competed. Coach Moultrie, Varsity assistant and Junior Varsity Coach, states, “I think it is a great tribute to his hardwork and dedication to the game. He hustled, had great worth, and he completely deserved it.”

Richardson has put in the efforts, and has attended all of his practices, as well as practicing on his own. He has been scouted out by multiple colleges and has yet to decide where he wants to go.

Richardson averages 27.2 points per game. This season, he has made 557 points this season and recently made his 2,000. Coach Knox says, “Sam completely deserves it. I feel he is the best in the league, but that’s because I’m his Coach.”
