For the last nine years, HHS has always had a full-time College Advisor on staff.  That is, until she abruptly left.

Students may remember that this school year began with Ms. Fulgham as the College Advisor, but she resigned from the position in early October.

Fulgham was in her first of two years as college advisor here at HHS.  The job entails meeting with kids, planning college tours, ACT prepping, and planning events.

Fulgham’s absence is currently being filled by her former supervisor, Miss Khadija Tejan.

“In the interim, I am here on Wednesday’s to assist any student who wants help with future decisions. Our College Ambassadors have been meeting and we are currently crafting plans for Junior Week 2019!” Tejan said.

Due to her short stay, she needed to be temporarily replaced by her supervisor, Ms. Tejan, who is currently looking for a counselor for HHS

“Currently, I am interviewing for a new college adviser. Hopefully, he/she will be able to start in the Spring!”

For seniors, we have a day called Decision Day. Usually the counselor organizes the whole event, but without a counselor, how would we do that? When asked about it, this is what Tejan had to say.

“Decision Day will still happen in the Spring,” Tejan said.  “The Missouri College Advising Corps and Dr. Vogler are committed to celebrating the post-secondary decisions for the Class of 2019.”

Earlier this week, Tejan announced that a permanent replacement has been hired.

The official full-time replacement for HHS, Ms. Lauren Ficker, starts on December 17th.
